Uffington Horse Celtic Folk Rock and Mythic World Rock

Heather Alexander, a fiery Celtic, redheaded multi-instrumentalist with a commanding stage presence and mesmerizing voice, formed the trio Uffington Horse with the amazing rhythms of Dan "DanO" Ochipinti and solid, melodic bass lines of Andrew Hare, after their chance performance together in another band. Uffington Horse has been performing since 1999 in the Northwest. Their mix of Heather’s original songs and traditional tunes put to a rock and roll beat bring to mind British bands Fairport Convention or Steeleye Span, but with a modern style that is all their own. Their sound has been described as "Afro-Celt Sound System with Grace Slick as lead singer." The fantastic and mythic aspects of their music combined with their kicking renditions of traditional Irish and Scottish tunes inspire fans of all ages. They have returned to the Kelso Highlander Festival for the past four years, have performed at numerous private functions and are often enjoyed at local casinos. Heather has six published albums on her own label, Sea Fire Productions. Her latest album is the solo work, "Festival Wind," recorded live in 2002. Uffington Horse’s first Celtic-World Rock album "Enchantment" was released in September of 2004.
